On Saturday 27 September, Hastings played host to the historic Speaker’s Day, last held there in 2018.
A colourful procession of mayors, town clerks, and dignitaries wound its way through the Old Town. The Mayor of Hastings, Cllr Becca Horn, serving as this year’s Speaker of the Cinque Ports, welcomed participants and visitors alike.
The procession began at Muriel Matters House at 10:30 am, passed through St Clement’s Church for a service, and returned to Stade Hall via “Happy Harold” for a formal lunch. Local performers, including Hastings RX Morris, added to the festive atmosphere.
