The Mayor of Ramsgate, Councillor Laurie Hudson, was honoured to introduce Zoe Carassik of Pie Factory Music and Carl Whitewood of the Ramsgate Salvation Army to His Royal Highness King Charles III at a special reception held at Walmer Castle on 10th July 2025.
The event was hosted by the Lord Warden and Admiral of the Cinque Ports and Constable of Dover Castle, Admiral Sir George Zambellas, in celebration of the remarkable charitable and voluntary work taking place across the Cinque Ports.
Each member town was invited to bring two guests whose dedication to community service reflects the values and spirit of the region. Zoe and Carl were selected in recognition of their long-standing commitment to making a positive impact through their work with local people.
Pie Factory Music offers creative opportunities, mentoring, and support for young people across East Kent, while the Salvation Army in Ramsgate provides vital services to those experiencing hardship, homelessness, or social isolation.
